Kensington MP Lady Victoria Borwick has told the Mayor of London that the Notting Hill Carnival is placing the public at risk.
The summer has been an excellent time to enjoy constituency events. In July, I had a wonderful time at several schools’ ‘end of year’ performances – I would like to thank the pupils of Thomas Jones who put on an amazing show for their parents and potential future school Heads.
As a member of the Science and Technology Select Committee I visited the Farnborough Airshow, where I was particularly interested to meet the British technology companies that are exporting internationally. The Science and Technology Select Committee has continued to scrutinize a whole range of topics including the commercialisation of graphene; how the country responds to emergencies (particularly when scientific advice would be needed); the priorities of UK Research and Innovation; and how we communicate science and technology announcements to ensure public engagement. In the House I have been in discussions about ‘Supported Housing'; London’s taxi trade; mental capacity; diversity and funding for schools; children leaving care; and the London-wide All-Party Parliamentary Group.
